11″ African Rosewood/Birds Eye Maple

I have been experimenting with variations of rosewood in banjo rims for sometime. This particular prototype has a 11″ 2 ply African Rosewood laminated rim setup with a 1/4″ rolled brass tone ring. It turned out to be a great combination. I will build more once I get caught up on current banjo orders.

It has now found its new home in Oklahoma.

Hello,

For those of you who do not know me my name is Chris Scott and I am a banjo builder and parts maker. For more than 5 years now I have supplied rims and some necks to a large percentage of the Old Time banjo builders in the United States and the  world. I take pride in building the highest quality parts available. If you are playing a custom built banjo that is using a laminated rim it could very well be one of mine.
